Abortion Access Has a Lifeline. Opponents Want to Cut It Off

In the post-Roe era, medication abortion takes center stage.

With each passing year since the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortion laws have gotten tougher, and red states’ aggressive attempts to shut down access to care have continued unabated.

Yet the number of abortions in the US hasn’t budged. In fact, as a new report from the Guttmacher Institute shows, it continues to slowly tick upward.
