The winners of the 60th World Press Photo Contest, run by a Dutch non-profit foundation, were chosen from more than 80,000 images submitted by more than 5,000 photographers from around the world. Photo of the Year was awarded to Turkish Associated Press photographer Burhan Ozbilici for his image capturing the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, in December.
