Brent jumped above $107 and equity futures tumbled as Donald Trump signaled an escalation in the war against Iran, dimming hopes of a quick resolution. The US president said he will hit Iran “extremely hard” over the next two to three weeks but gave no clear exit timeline. He also revived threats to strike Iranian power plants.
