Today marks day three of the bizarre story surrounding an alleged leadership plot by Wes Streeting.

A quick recap if you missed the first two days: on Tuesday night allies of Keir Starmer briefed journalists that the prime minister’s team had received new information suggesting the health secretary was actively plotting a coup – an allegation denied by Streeting’s office. Yesterday, Streeting kicked back, accusing unnamed Downing Street staff of trying to “kneecap” him.
