Barrick Mining Corp. is seeking a new contractor for its sprawling gold complex in Mali after the company’s previous partner declined to renew its contract and exited the country.

Toronto-based Barrick plans to hire a local contractor to replace Gounkoto Mining Services by the end of the year, when mining at one of the open pits at Loulo-Gounkoto is scheduled to resume, a company spokesperson said. The change will not impact Barrick’s plans to ramp up production at the mine, they said.
