Negotiations to form Denmark’s government are set to become the longest in the Nordic country’s history as caretaker Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen continues to lead the political bargaining process six weeks after the election.

Talks are on track to run longer than any other formation process in modern Danish history, beating the record 42 days it took Frederiksen to secure a coalition agreement in 2022.
