French Far-Left’s Melenchon to Run in 2027 Presidential Election

Jean-Luc Melenchon said he will run for French president for a fourth time, positioning himself as the most established left-wing contender in the race to succeed Emmanuel Macron in 2027.

“Yes, I am a candidate,” the 74-year-old leader of the far-left France Unbowed told TF1 on Sunday, arguing he is best placed to navigate an “agitated” global backdrop marked by geopolitical, economic and environmental risks.
