Sheinbaum to Announce Steps to Boost Mexico’s Private Investment
President Claudia Sheinbaum said she will announce on Monday a series of measures aimed at strengthening private investment in Mexico, centered on a “radical simplification” of bureaucratic procedures.
The announcement follows a government report Thursday showing that the economy recorded its largest contraction in more than a year in the first quarter, despite sustained government efforts to stimulate growth through domestic and foreign investment. Mexico’s public investment fell 15.6% in real terms from a year earlier, reflecting delays in project execution.
