Congo Ex-President Kabila Denounces US Sanctions Against Him

Former president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila, denounced US sanctions against him for his alleged ties to a rebel group occupying a large part of the country’s mineral-rich east.

Kabila said the sanctions, which the US announced Thursday, were “unjustified, politically motivated, and based on unsubstantiated accusations.”
