US Mortgage Rates Jump to 6.3% With First Increase in a Month

US mortgage rates rose for the first time in a month, with the key spring selling season slow to gain momentum.

The average rate for 30-year, fixed loans increased to 6.3% from 6.23% last week, Freddie Mac reported Thursday. A year earlier it was 6.76%.
