Nigeria Taps Ex-Dangote Exec to Head Oil Regulator After Tension

Nigeria’s president named a former Dangote Cement Plc executive as the next head of the nation’s petroleum-products regulator, the third leadership change in four months at the agency that’s clashed with billionaire investor Aliko Dangote.

The appointment of Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as chief executive officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority was made in the “public interest,” President Bola Tinubu’s office said in a statement on Wednesday.
