Military Use of NATO Pipeline in Europe Impacts Civilian Supply

Military operations have impacted sections of a sprawling European fuel pipeline network at a time of supply pressures caused by the Iran war, according to a German service provider for the system.

The Central Europe Pipeline System — a key part of the region’s energy infrastructure and of the NATO pipeline system — always gives priority to the military requirements of its member states upon request, a spokesperson for service provider Fernleitungs-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH said by email.
