Pierre-André Imbert will step down as France’s ambassador to Australia to become secretary-general of the Elysee from May 4, according to a decree published Thursday in the Official Journal. It marks his second stint at the presidency working under Macron, after serving as a social affairs adviser in 2017 and being promoted to deputy chief of staff in 2020.
