RBNZ to Disclose Votes of Monetary Policy Committee Members
New Zealand’s central bank will disclose the votes of members of its Monetary Policy Committee if it is unable to reach a consensus decision on interest rates under the terms of a new charter agreed with the government.
The charter will also make it easier for MPC members to communicate publicly about monetary policy by easing current restrictions, Finance Minister Nicola Willis said in a statement Thursday in Wellington. The MPC will also begin attributing material differences in views in its records of meetings, she said.
