Shin-Etsu Withholds Outlook Due to Iran War Price Disruption

Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. withheld its full-year forecast, citing supply constraints and price fluctuations stemming from the war in the Middle East.

The maker of polyvinyl chloride and caustic soda has been hit by rising prices of ethylene and other naphtha-derived products due to months-long closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The company has announced price increases of infrastructure products, including that of PVC resins.
