Romania’s finance minister warned that the current political turmoil is increasing funding costs and may raise the risk of the country losing its investment grade credit score.

The Black Sea nation was thrust into another internal crisis when the largest government party left the ruling coalition and teamed up with the far-right opposition in an attempt to topple the minority cabinet. The escalation followed months of bickering over austerity measures needed to curb the budget deficit.
