Congo President Calls for Audit of Mining Joint Ventures

The Democratic Republic of Congo must audit its mining joint ventures to ensure companies are complying with requirements including the repatriation of export earnings, President Felix Tshisekedi told his council of ministers Friday.

The head of state said ministers should begin the process within 30 days and present preliminary results no later than June 15, according to minutes of the meeting published Monday.
