Brazil Inflation Undershoots Forecast on Eve of Interest Rate Decision

Brazil’s inflation picked up less than expected in early April, keeping central bankers on track to deliver another modest interest rate cut this week.

Official data released Tuesday showed consumer prices rose 0.89% from the previous month, below the 0.98% median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg. Inflation accelerated 4.37% from a year ago.
