Blue Apron’s Meal Maker Files Bankruptcy After Recalls

FreshRealm, the exclusive maker of meal kits for Blue Apron, filed for bankruptcy with plans to sell its assets and settle a food-recall dispute that helped pressure the company into seeking court protection from creditors.

Under a proposal that must be approved by a federal judge, FreshRealm would sell its operations that supply Blue Apron to Misfits Market, an online grocer that delivers food to customers’ homes. Misfits has a deal to continue supplying Blue Apron, according to documents filed Monday in federal court in New Jersey.
