Atlas Copco’s Chipmaker-Exposed Unit Shines as Orders Disappoint

Atlas Copco AB’s chipmaking-related business grew twice as strong as analysts expected, a bright spot for the company as other units disappointed.

The Swedish maker of pumps, vacuums and compressors said orders for vacuum equipment increased “significantly” in the first quarter, driven by higher demand from semiconductor customers as well as from general industry.
