Pakistan Risks More Power Blackouts on Severe Heat Wave Forecast
Pakistan issued a heat wave warning for parts of the country, which threatens to strain the power grid and risks further blackouts, as the nation grapples with energy shortages due to the conflict in the Middle East.
Abnormally hot weather will be concentrated in Pakistan’s south this week, forecasts show. A severe heat wave is predicted for parts of Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan until May 5, according to a notice from the National Disaster Management Authority.
