Japan’s Power Bills May Show War Impact From June, Minister Says
Japanese consumers may begin to see the impact of the war in Iran on electricity and natural gas bills from around June, the trade minister said.
Utilities automatically adjust rates based on fuel-import prices from two to four months before, Trade Minister Ryosei Akazawa said in a regular press conference on Friday. As import costs are likely to start rising this month, the impact could be reflected in rates and bills from June, he said.
