EU Is Drafting Plans to Defend Its Borders as US Support Wavers

The European Union is drawing up plans to help countries fight off a military assault with or without its superpower ally, the US.

EU officials are working out how to mount a joint response if any member states are attacked, whether by conventional forces, a cyberattack, or the sorts of weaponized migration that Belarus has deployed along its border with Poland, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
