Japan’s Takaichi Seeks Saudi Help on Procuring Energy Supplies

Photographer: Kiyoshi Ota/BloombergJapan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi sought help in procuring more energy in a phone call Thursday with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as the ongoing war in Iran continues to cast concerns over oil supply.
“Takaichi expressed gratitude that the Saudi Arabian side has continued to supply crude oil through Yanbu Port, and requested cooperation in expanding energy supply to Japan,” a statement released by the Japanese foreign ministry read. Bin Salman responded positively to the request according to the statement, which didn’t give any further details of Takaichi’s request.
