Japan’s Katayama Stresses Constant Close Contact With US on Yen
Japan’s Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama warned that officials are in close contact around the clock with their US counterparts as Tokyo remains on high alert over speculative moves that are keeping the yen weak.
Past currency interventions have had an impact each time and authorities can act again, Katayama said in a conversation with Shery Ahn at Bloomberg’s New Voices event in Tokyo on Thursday.
