Italian Premier Meloni Says EU Energy Proposals Aren’t Enough
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni warned that the European Union’s proposals to tackle the energy crisis caused by the war in Iran have fallen short of what’s needed.
“Europe must have a lot more courage,” Meloni told reporters in Cyprus Thursday ahead of a meeting with other EU leaders. She said that while she welcomed the proposals — which include cuts on energy taxes and optimizing jet fuel distribution — they were still “not enough of a step forward.”
