Heineken Beer Volumes Fall More Than Expected on Weak Demand

Heineken NV beer volumes fell again in the first quarter as demand declined in crucial markets including Europe and the Americas.

The Dutch brewer, which also makes the Tecate and Amstel brands, said that volumes fell 0.8%, compared with the 0.7% drop expected by analysts. This is another quarter of decline for Heineken, whose performance is lagging that of industry rivals Carlsberg A/S and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
