FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried told a judge his law professor parents only made suggestions to improve the court filings he submitted seeking a new trial — a request the onetime crypto king is now withdrawing.
Bankman-Fried is appealing his fraud conviction by a jury and the 25-year sentence he received from US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan. At the same time, he asked Kaplan to give him a new trial in front of a different judge, based on what he claimed is new evidence.
