AT&T Results Seen Mixed as Wireless Service Revenue Disappoints
AT&T Inc. gave a mixed first-quarter earnings report, with wireless service revenue coming up short, tempering better-than-expected overall sales and profit.
Wireless service revenue, which reflects income from selling mobile phone plans, rose 1.7% to $16.9 billion in the period. That was less than estimates for $17 billion, according to analysts at KeyBanc Securities. Average revenue per user was flat. Fewer people also signed up for home internet than the market expected.
