Bitcoin Advances Toward $70,000 as Market Volatility Increases
Bitcoin pushed toward the higher bounds of its recent trading range as volatility increased across global financial markets amid the escalating war in the Middle East.
The original cryptocurrency gained as much as 6.7% to around $70,100, before paring its increase late Monday. The largest token by market value dropped to around $63,000 over the weekend. Other, less liquid, smaller tokens climbed, with Ether and Solana each rising more than 8% at one point.
