Predator Spyware Sellers Convicted in Controversial Greek Case

Four executives who worked for a spyware company were convicted by a Greek court Thursday and sentenced to eight-year prison terms over a campaign of covert surveillance that eavesdropped on journalists and opposition politicians.

The executives worked with Intellexa SA, a company that sold spyware known as Predator. The technology was marketed to governments and law enforcement agencies as a tool to hack into mobile phones and secretly monitor private communications.
