Baltics Plan Hundreds of Bunkers to Fortify Border With Russia
Estonia announced tenders for the construction of 600 underground military bunkers along the Russian border, in the latest bid to safeguard NATO’s eastern flank from future threats.
A number of bunkers that have already been installed cost around €50,000 ($59,000) each, said Krismar Rosin, press officer for the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments, a government agency responsible for military purchases. The procurement process is expected to lower the price, he said.
