Globeleq Targets 2027 Start for Delayed Mozambique Power Plant
Power project developer Globeleq and its partners plan to start generating electricity from a gas-fired plant in Mozambique next year, following delays that caused the construction cost to jump.
The 450-megawatt Central Termica de Temane station was initially expected to start producing power more than a year ago, before the site was affected by extreme weather, post-election protests and a construction contractor’s exit, said Samir Sale, country and business development director at Globeleq.
