Korea Likely to Unveil $6.8 Billion in Fresh Stimulus, Citi Says
South Korea is likely to roll out around 10 trillion won ($6.8 billion) in fresh fiscal stimulus as early as March to address uneven economic growth, with support expected for sectors including culture and the arts, Citigroup said in a report Thursday.
The report follows data showing the economy unexpectedly contracted in the final quarter of 2025 amid a broad pullback in demand, underscoring the challenge facing policymakers as options to boost growth are constrained by a weakening won and rising financial stability risks.
