Mozambican President Daniel Chapo canceled a trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos after the worst flooding in decades in the southeast African nation killed more than 100 people and damaged or destroyed tens of thousands of homes.

More than half a million people have been impacted by the flooding from heavy rains that began last month, according to the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction, which reported 111 weather-related deaths.
