Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his country is in discussions with the US over granting a decades-long lease to develop a regional infrastructure project as part of a process to end years of conflict with neighboring Azerbaijan.

In August, President Donald Trump was granted exclusive rights for the US to develop the so-called Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity set to run across Armenia to connect Azerbaijan with its Naxcivan exclave bordering Turkey. The project, which includes the creation of a joint Armenian-US company, aims to establish a transport corridor under Yerevan’s jurisdiction, according to Pashinyan.
