Pakistan and Afghan officials agreed to an “immediate ceasefire” during negotiations in Qatar’s capital after tensions escalated earlier this month and clashes turned deadly.
The two sides also reached an agreement to set up mechanisms to “consolidate lasting peace and stability,” according to a statement by Qatar’s foreign affairs ministry on Sunday. There were no details on the measures that would be taken.
