Microsoft to Rent Nscale AI Data Center Capacity in Portugal

Microsoft Corp. will rent capacity from Nscale at a data center in Portugal, as the US tech company expands its computing resources to meet growing demand for artificial intelligence.

The project, which will use Nvidia Corp.’s latest AI chips, will be hosted at the Start Campus data center park in Sines, about 150 kilometers (93 miles) south of Lisbon, according to people familiar with the matter. It is scheduled to be operational in early 2026, the people said.
