Uganda’s main opposition leader, Robert Kyagulanyi, has been cleared to challenge President Yoweri Museveni, who’s ruled the East African nation for four decades.

The pop star-turned-politician, known as Bobi Wine, fulfilled all requirements to run for office in January polls, Simon Byabakama, the chairman of Uganda’s Electoral Commission, announced Wednesday at the election body’s headquarters, just south of the capital, Kampala.
