US Puts Sanctions on Palestinian Groups in Blow to State Claims

The US imposed sanctions on members of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian Authority, a counter-action to moves from European countries toward recognizing a Palestinian state.

The State Department said the new restrictions would block visas to members of the internationally recognized PLO and the PA due to a failure to meet certain commitments.
