Chicago Curbs Hiring, Travel to Tackle $1 Billion Budget Hole

Hiring will be frozen from Aug. 1 until the end of the year for most roles with few exception including public safety and revenue generating posts, according to a memo on Thursday from Budget Director Annette Guzman. The city is also suspending all non-essential travel until further notice.
