Tariff Rate of 15% Should Be ‘Manageable’ for Europe, Says BNP Paribas

After months of talks, Donald Trump suggested Wednesday that he would not go below 15%.

Europe’s economy should be able to deal with a 15% tariff rate as talks with the US are progressing, according to one of the region’s largest banks.

“If tariffs let’s say are around 15% for the EU, it should be manageable,” Lars Machenil, the chief financial officer of BNP Paribas SA, said in an interview on Bloomberg TV Thursday.
