Heart Eyes
Just in time for Valentine’s Day comes a story about young love … terrorized by a serial killer. The latest in a budding genre of anti-rom-com thrillers follows two telegenic marketing executives falling in love while fighting for their lives. Directed by Josh Ruben and co-written by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day), this tongue-in-cheek slasher might have just the right amount of saltiness to complement all those candy hearts. Feb. 7

Parthenope
This sun-drenched antidote to your February blues comes via famed Italian director Paolo Sorrentino. (His ode to Roman life, The Great Beauty, won the 2014 Oscar for best foreign film.) Set in and around Naples from the 1950s to the present day, the movie follows Parthenope (Celeste Dalla Porta), a young woman appropriately named after a siren of Greek mythology, as she enchants a wide range of colorful characters in this sweeping story of young love. Feb. 7
