Prince Albert II faced a call from European anti-bribery inspectors to stamp out conflicts of interest by providing greater transparency surrounding his role as Monaco’s head of state.

The Group of States Against Corruption, known as GRECO, recommended sweeping reforms for Monaco, calling it a “country where a culture of discretion prevails” and suggested new rules to combat conflicts of interest, bribery and other acts of misconduct.
