How to Use Child Psychology on Your Boss

Take the toddler approach.

The toddler is always looking for control. I coach parents that you can give over that control, but with limits. Like, “I wish we could go outside and play when it’s dark and pouring rain. Too bad it’s bedtime. But we’ll go out tomorrow, right? I’ll put your boots right by the door so we remember.” And when your child wakes up and says, “Let’s go outside right now,” you go with it. And when he gets those boots, you praise him and say, “Great idea!”
