The IAAF, the global governing body of track and field, said it is taking disciplinary action against 28 athletes after it re-tested urine samples from the 2005 and 2007 world athletics championships.
The athletes can’t be named due to the legal process, the IAAF said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday. Most have retired and none will compete at the world track meet in Beijing later this month, it said. The Swiss-based organization found 32 adverse findings in total.
