Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova has been diagnosed with the energy-sapping mononucleosis.

The 25-year-old Czech, the only player born in the 1990s with a major title to her name, sought medical advice after an infection that kept her out of a Wimbledon warmup event at Eastbourne in June failed to clear.
