After having two children during a three-year break from rowing, reigning Olympic champion Anna Watkins is back on the water.

Watkins hasn’t raced competitively since she won gold with Katherine Grainger in the double scull at the London Olympics in August 2012. She had her first child in September 2013 and a second in February 2015, completing the London marathon in between in April 2014. Watkins has been training for a few months as she tries to make the British squad for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, GB Rowing said in an e-mailed statement.
