Scott Wede, Barclays Plc’s New York-based global securitized-products trading head, is retiring more than a decade after joining the British bank as foreign lenders used a wave of hiring to become competitors in the U.S. bond business.

Wede, 43, who also recently oversaw municipal finance, is leaving to spend more time with his family and pursue other interests, according to an internal memo from Joe Corcoran, the bank’s interim head of markets.
