“Jurassic World,” Universal Pictures’ reboot of the dino-franchise, topped the box office in its debut, becoming only the second movie to ever bring more than $200 million in its first weekend

The latest installment collected $204.6 million in theaters in the U.S and Canada, Rentrak Corp. said Sunday in an e-mailed statement. Only Walt Disney Co.’s “Marvel’s The Avengers,” with $207.4 million, generated more sales in its opening weekend in May 2012.
